Popularity for Rubber for Cushioning Falls Rises
Falling down through space even for a short distance can be very harmful and many of us are caught in its clutches when we lapse in our safety precautions. At Synthatech we make it our business to guard against the possibility of injury especially t school children through a fall from a play platform, or equipment commonly found in school grounds around the country. Playgrounds and playing areas are now being targeted by a rubber covering which has now become the type of ground cover preferred by some Australian councils.
Rubber instead of the traditional fall cushions
In the past, the traditional method of placing sand or grass under play platforms or equipment proved to be ineffective. Many schools complained of the ineffectiveness of these methods and clamoured for a better solution. A fall from equipment used for playing was known to result in concussion to children who fell from a higher level onto the ground. During falls, no grip was offered by either the sand or grass to break the fall. Sand and grass also hid lesser dangerous objects such as sharp implements or needles. On a rubber cushion cover they would be easily seen.
Numerous advantages of rubber surfaces
There are unlimited opportunities for using rubber for the sake of safety especially in recreation areas where children enjoy themselves. For instance, a whole playground area can be totally protected by the installation of rubber as a covering to specifically cushion falls. It is also possible to install industrial flooring to lessen the impact of falls while another method uses a general form of matting for a similar purpose. Other protective measures are available for the safety of everyone who enjoys games on play equipment provided by the school.
